The house sits on over five and a half acres of lush land, ideally situated between Dominical and Quepos. Gardening, yoga decks, and additional view areas could be added to the property. The house is in the Zacatona neighborhood, just above the pristine beaches of Playa Linda and Playa Matapalo.

Quepos is a premier destination in Costa Rica, boasting a newly expanded regional airport, a lovely marina, and the country’s most famous national park, Manuel Antonio National Park. Dominical, a bohemian surf town 15 minutes to the south, has local shops, restaurants, and a brewery. Other local attractions include the Nauyaca Waterfall, the Hacienda Baru nature reserve, and all of Costa Rica’s adventures.

Indoor/Outdoor Living in a One-of-a-Kind Costa Rica Open Air Design:

This incredible tropical home was custom built to blend in with the breathtaking surroundings. This house, made with various Costa Rica hardwoods, is a one-of-a-kind home that would be difficult to replicate. The addition of an additional pool elevates the overall experience of this property. Over 300 square meters in size, the house has a large master suite that takes up the entire top floor, an open living and kitchen area on the ground floor, and a climate-controlled storage area and office. A Mirador sits above the pool and house, allowing you to take full advantage of the expansive ocean views.

Miscellaneous house details:

- There is expansive floor space of over three hundred meters with ninety cubic meters of office space.
- The design inspiration of the house was got from a biologist and anthropologist with close ties with nature.
- Initial construction started in 1996 and was completed at around the end of 1999. The whole building was done under the supervision and assistance of the owner.
- Some of the amenities have been added since. For example, in 2003, the massive swimming pool was added with a new parking area in 2019.
- The new mirador was added in 2004, which can hold up to thousands of liters of water.
- The building is designed to withstand earthquakes and has robust ten-foot power pools and a meter-wide concrete filling.
- All Costa Rican hardwoods were used in the construction of the house, including Chiricano beams and joists, Nazareno (purpleheart) railings, flooring, dining and desk tables, Carey
flooring, Manglillo ceiling, and Teak roof supports.
- The main floor and bathrooms are tiled in Spanish. The main tiled floor is designed to slope to the outside edges, directing water to the drainage moat and large drains.
- In 2021, a new swimming pool pump and timer will be available. Also, in 2021, the filter sand changed.
- In July 2021, MINAE received and approved a water concession.
- The current annual owner’s association dues are S1,000 (houses with a pool). The funds are used to maintain roads and water lines.
